Perimeter Medical Imaging recently received 510k clearance for a product that improves the quality of life for patients with breast cancer. The company recently secured financing with Social Capital, where Chamath Palihapitiya is the CEO and founder. The fund established with the mantra, "Our mission is to advance humanity by solving the world's hardest problems." (Source https://www.socialcapital.com/ ) Jeremy Sobotta is the CEO of Perimeter, and this is his first foray at running a publicly-traded company. All indications from what I have seen are that he is doing a fabulous job building a strong executive team with a proven track record. Here is their most recent investor deck.
The company has an additional AI product in clinical studies at two locations. Suppose the data turns out to be favorable. In that case, the company already has a fast-track designation from the FDA for approval. That will enable a razor and razor blade business model with a recurring revenue component. The AI component involved will also provide the opportunity for expanded use beyond breast cancer into other types of cancer in the human body.
